Christian Drug Treatment

Transformations Treatment Center is proud to offer its clients a Christian drug treatment program. This program, while geared toward the Christian faith, accepts people of all faiths and welcomes anyone who wants to learn how to find and take comfort in a higher power as they work to get and stay sober.

Studies have proven that Christian drug treatment programs have a higher rate of success than other non-faith based drug addiction recovery programs. We believe this is because the sense of trust and the supportive community that we build in our Christian drug treatment center are easily re-created in the "outside" world.

Pain is inevitable, Suffering is optional

What, exactly, does our Christian drug treatment program involve? Here is what you can expect when you enroll in our Christian drug treatment center:

  • Individual Drug and Alcohol Counseling: you will work one on one with a counselor to understand why, psychologically, you reach for drugs and/or alcohol for comfort. Together the two of you will work to identify your addiction triggers and come up with other healthier ways to cope.
  • Group Drug and Alcohol Counseling: in group counseling you will learn how to express your thoughts and feelings to other people. The safe environment fostered in group counseling helps you re-develop your interpersonal skills as well as getting insight and support from other people who are going through the same thing that you are.
  • Pastoral Drug and Alcohol Counseling: Pastoral counseling is a lot like individual counseling. We work with you to help you learn how to find inspiration in your faith. Your pastoral counselor will help you learn how to read and understand the bible as well as learn how to pray and find strength in your faith.
  • Christ-Centered Twelve Step Recovery Program: The twelve steps are an integral part to any drug addiction rehabilitation program whether it is a Christian drug treatment program or something more secular. We will teach you how to infuse the twelve steps with Christ's teachings for a better chance of success.
  • Church Attendance: We feel that regular church attendance is a vital part of your drug addiction recovery. The regular schedule of church services will give you something to rely on and the lessons you will learn in chapel will help you stay strong as you work to stay sober during the week.
  • Education in Chemical Dependency: We at Transformations Treatment Center would be remiss if we didn't supplement your Christian drug treatment program with scientific education. You will learn exactly how drugs and alcohol work and how they physically affect you.

The truth is that everything you learn in our Christian drug treatment center can be put to use in the "outside" world after you leave drug rehab. Many recovering drug addicts find that joining a local church and taking part in its services and activities helps them recreate the same supportive community that they found in our Christian drug treatment program, for several reasons:

  • The regular schedule helps them fill their time as they are looking for new jobs or trying to get through their week without giving in to the temptations of drugs and alcohol that exist outside of drug addiction treatment.
  • The supportive community they find in their local churches provides them with the "positive pressure" they need to stay sober. This means that, instead of being surrounded by people who are hoping you won't relapse, you'll be surrounded by people who are pressuring you to stay sober.
  • The new community found in a local church gives you a feeling of "starting fresh" with people who will be able to support your sobriety without having memories of your addiction.
  • The inspiration gained from the church services and regular bible readings can help you find the strength you need to turn down the temptations that might otherwise cause you to relapse.

It is important to note that while the Christian drug treatment program at Transformations Treatment Center does focus heavily on the teachings of Jesus Christ, we accept people of all faiths (as well as people who do not subscribe to any faith) into the program. We welcome all who seek to find strength in a higher power while they work to get and stay sober.

Here are some Christian Drug Treatment Center articles to help you understand how a Christian Drug Treatment can help you:

"Being addicted to drugs is a serious and deadly problem for many people all over the nation and the situation grows graver with each passing day. Some people think that drug addiction is not something that can happen in their own family, until the problem occurs and becomes a startling reality. Every state in America has been affected by drugs and society and the country are being completely overwhelmed..."

"When you or someone you love is faced with a crippling battle against substance abuse and addiction, the world is a forlorn and forsaken place in which to live. People care caught up in a disease which has the capacity to wreck lives, cause devastating health complications and when in the wrong hands and used irresponsibly, drugs can and do kill. The information surrounding prescription and illicit drug abuse are startling and require immediate attention, if people are to become clean from drugs and not become another statistic..."

"People faced with battling substance abuse and drug addiction are living in a sad and meaningless world. Drugs do not allow a person to experience the joyful and happy side of life and only bring confusion, pain and agony for the addict and those that love the individual. Knowing that someone you love struggles in the daily battle to live and knowing that nothing that matters to the individual, is a reality faced by countless numbers of people all over the United States. There is no quality of life and no happiness to be found in abusing drugs, there is only trauma and devastation left in the wake of addiction..."

"People use drugs for many different reasons, but the most common reason is because of the enjoyable sensation of euphoria and pleasure experienced. Being under the influence of drugs makes a person into someone else and does nothing to help alleviate or solve the problems being experienced. When coming down off of the artificial high offered by drugs like heroin or cocaine, the person has only served to make the situation worse and now faces having to address an addiction problem as well..."

"The word of God teaches Christians that with his help anything is possible; God never fails and never leaves. For a person suffering and battling with drug addiction, it can seem as if God and the world have forgotten about them. Falling short of God's glory and making a mistake is normal, we are all human beings and prone to sin and being tempted and making bad decisions will happen. Instead of beating yourself up about having a drug problem, an addicted person should readily admit the severity of the situation and seek to heal through the help of God..."

"A person's life changes when suffering from drug addiction, nothing holds any type of meaning and everyone suffers because of the problem. Being strong and having willpower has nothing at all to do with whether or not someone is likely to become addicted to drugs. Drug addiction is something that can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere and it does not matter who the person is and what type of life they have. Drugs do not discriminate and can take over the life of even the person you might least suspect, the problems are serious and require immediate attention and treatment to conquer..."

"While being addicted to drugs like heroin, cocaine, crack, prescription medications or others, life can be very hard and the burdens are heavy. Addiction to drugs brings with it nothing but misery, pain and agony and causes devastating and destruction in the life of the addict and others that love the person. People turn to using drugs for many different reasons, but the end result is always the same and the consequences are truly and utterly horrible..."

"Suffering from drug addiction is a sad and painful existence for anyone to have to endure. It is hard for the addicted person and also for the family and loved ones of the person to know that the individual is doing things to deliberately hurt themselves and there is no way to make it stop. For those that live with the daily struggles and burdens of addiction, life is a nightmare from which there can seem to be no end in sight..."

"Struggling with drug addiction is an impossible way of life that many people face every single day. People turn to drug abuse for many different reasons, some use drugs as an escape from the problems of everyday life and others use drugs to numb their mind to pressure, stress or trauma. There are many people that face drug addiction and want to stop using, but do not know how to accomplish it alone. Using drugs is never the answer to problems and in reality, only serve to make life much worse..."

"There are many different forms of drug addiction and as such, there are a variety of ways to treat addiction. What will be beneficial and healing for one person, may not necessarily help another person and some methods and services will not be able to reach every addicted person. For those that have tried and been unsuccessful at recovery through a traditional drug treatment program, there are a variety of faith based drug rehab treatment facilities which could be the key to helping the individual become clean and sober..."
