Speciality Drug Treatment Programs
Alcoholism-
Alcoholism can be a deadly disease from which there is no known cure and as the big book of Alcoholics Anonymous clearly states, “it can be arrested at some point and recovery is then possible”.
Getting and using and finding ways and means to get more is what most alcoholics suffer with each day they are in active addiction or alcoholism.
Cocaine-
Cocaine although it may not be physically addictive, it is mentally addictive. Drug addicts crave cocaine just as severely as heroin addicts even though they will not get physically sick with withdrawls. Addicts have been know to lie, steal, and kill for another line of cocaine or another hit of crack. Many female addicts will sell their bodies to support their habit for cocaine. Others will end up in jails, institutions or death.
Ecstasy-
This drug is known to produce “feelings of love;” however, it may also be fatal. Young teenagers are trying this drug more and more and then moving on to some of the “harder drugs” such as cocaine and heroin. MDMA 3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methamphetamine, is a semisynthetic member of the amphetamine class of psychoactive drugs, a subclass of the phenethylamines.
Hallucinogens-
Hallucinogens are drugs that cause hallucinations. A hallucination may involve one or more of the five senses – vision, touch, smell, taste, and sound.
Heroin-
Common street names:
Heroin: – Lady, white girl, horse, black tar, brown sugar, smack, goods, H, junk, Harry
Morphine: – M, white stuff, cube, morf, mud, nasty
Heroin is physically addictive. Heroin slows people down giving them a feeling of warmth and detachment. It depresses brain activity and widens blood vessels. High doses may can lead to drowsiness and sedation
Marijuana-
Known to many as the gateway drug because most people start with Marijuana and then move on to “harder drugs” such as cocaine or heroin. Marijuana can be smoked or eaten and stays in the body from 1 week to 28 days typically depending on the amount of use or the duaration.
Methamphetamines-
Methamphetamine increases the release of very high levels of the brain chemical dopamine, which is involved in motivation, the experience of pleasure, and motor function, and is a common mechanism of action for most drugs of abuse.
Prescription Drugs-
Prescription drugs are becoming the preferred drug user choice. They are being prescribed by doctors,or stolen from stores. Addicts are now snorting and shooting pain pills such as Oxycontin. Prescription medications such as Xanax can have very dangerous withdrawal symptoms.
Drug Rehabilitation can be found online for addiction treatment.

And 28 days is usually just a drop in the bucket for me. I need to go to a long term drug rehab that focuses on mind, body, and spirit. I have a lot of work to do im definitely an addict and an alcoholic. addiction and alcoholism runs in my family.

I never heard of christian drug treatment until about 6 months ago. I didnt think drug treatment centers did that type of stuff. I personally think it a terrific idea. I wish when I was looking to get clean from drugs and alcohol that there would have been a christian drug and alcohol rehab available.

Addiction and alcoholism, where does it come from? Are we born with it? Why can some people do drugs and alcohol and not turn their lives into an atomic bomb? Why are we the drug addicts and alcoholics. The minute I pick up a drink or a drug its all over for me, Back in a drug treatment program or even worse jail.
By lucas, April 24, 2009 @ 12:00 am

I need to find a specialty drug treatment program. I suffer with depression as well as addiction and alcoholism. I need detox and a 30 to 90 day drug rehab. and possibly a intensive out patient program. I need a lot of help. I heard florida would probably be the best place for someone like me to get help. I heard that in delray beach florida is the recovery capital of the nation. And the have a lot of transitional housing.
By jake lewin, May 6, 2009 @ 11:18 am
Can you believe that there are thousands of halfway houses in florida. Delray beach florida probably has the biggest population of transitional housing. That’s why addicts and alcoholics come from all over the world to come to florida and find drug rehabs and a sober living home. We have come a long way in addiction and alcoholism. More and more addicts and alcoholics are getting clean and staying clean. Thanks to drug rehab centers and transitional living.

I just got in to this intensive out patient drug and alcohol treatment facility. Its Christian based. I never really was a religious person I always believed in a higher power. But the drug rehab that I went to had two drug programs. They had the traditional drug treatment and they also had the Christian drug and alcohol track. I needed all the help I could get. Drugs and alcohol had completely taken over of my mind body and spirit. Today I am willing to do whatever it takes to put my addiction and alcoholism to rest.
By amy, May 6, 2009 @ 11:24 am

But if we both dont do it together i dont think we will ever get clean. Addiction and alcoholism runs in both sides of our family. And right now were thinking we want a christian drug rehab.

Not all drug treatment programs are the same. It doesnt really matter what drug you are coming off of. But the style of drug treatment that you choose to get can make all the difference in the world . Specialty drug treatment programs is something like a christian drug rehab. Their type of drug treatment is special and can help addicts and alcoholics ways that most drug programs cant.

If I only have a problem with alcohol should I enter a drug rehab program? I’m not a drug addict just an alcoholic. Would I benefit from a drug treatment program?
By Brea, June 6, 2009 @ 10:30 am
Everyone knows that the first step toward sobriety is admitting that you have no power when it comes to drugs and alcohol. This first step is a hard one to take and some people take years to admit that they aren’t able to kick their alcoholism on their own.
By Victor, June 6, 2009 @ 10:54 am
As a visitor to this website it is highly likely that either you or someone you know is looking for help with a drug addiction. It is also very probable that you have begun to understand that drug addiction cannot be handled alone. Even if you do not want to admit it, the fact that you are starting to look for help for your own drug addiction (or to get help in dealing with someone else’s drug addiction) is a major step in the right direction. Experts in drug addiction help say that the most difficult part of getting over a drug addiction is admitting that you have one and that it has gotten out of your control. With that in mind, congratulate yourself on beginning your journey toward a sober lifestyle!
By brandon, June 8, 2009 @ 10:58 am
Both types of christian drug treatment rely heavily on the drug addict/alcoholic attending regular individual therapy sessions. Experts have proved that without therapy, a person has more chance of relapsing back into their drug seeking ways. In a christian alcohol and drug treatment facility, these therapy sessions will usually involve some work with scriptures and dealing with a person’s spirituality.
By Ross, June 12, 2009 @ 10:01 am
drug and alcohol Treatment can occur in a variety of settings, in many different forms, and for different lengths of time. Because drug addiction is typically a chronic disorder characterized by occasional relapses, a short-term, one-time treatment often is not sufficient. For many, treatment is a long-term process that involves multiple interventions and attempts at abstinence.
By Dave, June 12, 2009 @ 10:04 am
Our country is in need of a serious shift in overall thinking about how drug addicts should be treated. Incarceration does not work; plain and simple. Few states have the money (or interest) to devote to providing treatment for addicts behind bars. In fact, statistics revel that many addictions actually grow while in prison. The availability of drugs and the need (desire) to escape leads drug addicts to use more and for those not exposed to drugs in the ‘outside world’ to begin using.

If you are unsure if your use of mind-altering substances is a harmless habit or a potentially harmful addiction, you are certainly not alone. Since man first crushed grapes and turned them into wine people have been asking themselves the very same question. While some who crushed grapes were satisfied with a glass or two of the wine they produced, there were some who drank until they reached the point of oblivion. Centuries later, most of us still know people who fall into each of these categories.
By lenny, June 12, 2009 @ 10:26 am
There are a number of reasons why it is so hard to answer. First, no one wants to admit they have an addiction and few want to be referred to as a “drug addict” or an “alcoholic”. These terms alone conjure up disheveled, homeless folks huddled under bridges shooting up, popping pills or drinking from a brown paper bag. Like any other group in our society, addicts come in all shapes, sizes and income levels. The solid citizen (with two cars in the garage and a white picket fence) is as likely to be addicted to drugs or alcohol as the man or woman living on the streets.
By denise, June 12, 2009 @ 11:59 am
Without a doubt, however, the biggest reason alcoholics and drug users can not admit to addiction is denial. The vast majority of people will have to break through the layers of denial before they can “own” their addiction and begin the process of recovery. Denial does not mean these people realize they are addicts and deny it because admission would mean defeat. No, it is much more complex than that. Even after having suffered major consequences as a result of using and having been diagnosed by a bevy of professionals, many addicts will continue to deny they have a problem. How can this be? They really believe they don’t have a problem. Often, they believe they are not like all the “others”, they can handle their liquor or drug of choice … they can quit any time they want. Typically, however, they don’t test that theory because they don’t try to quit. No one can make you believe you are addicted to a substance. It is a discovery you will have to make on your own. Yes, you can be guided, but the decision is yours alone
By kELLY, June 12, 2009 @ 1:09 pm
while millions of Americans habitually smoke pot, drink alcohol, snort cocaine and swallow prescription drugs, too many drug users who meet the criteria for needing treatment do not recognize that they have a problem. The figure of those “in denial” is estimated at more than 4.6 million–a significantly higher number of individuals in need of professional help than had previously been thought.

Among young adults age 18 to 25, current drug use increased between 2000 and 2001 from 15.9 percent to 18.8 percent. There were no statistically significant changes in the rates of drug use among adults age 26 and older.

For a drug and alcohol treatment center to be considered successful, there must be some method of addressing and handling the withdrawal symptoms and physical cravings for the alcohol or other drugs. It is essential to the overall recovery process.
By hosiah, June 15, 2009 @ 2:53 pm
Many addicts and alcoholics suffer with alcoholism and addiction fear the withdrawal symptoms of the drugs and alcohol therefore don’t seek the help they really need, but we can help locate resources that are experts at handling this. Find out which drug and alcohol treatment center can do this effectively.
By Ronnie, June 15, 2009 @ 3:11 pm
Breaking the addiction and alcoholism cycle will be very difficult, and it may feel as if you will never see the light at the end of the tunnel, but with hard work, faith, hope and a little bit of work and support from family and loved ones, anything is possible.
Since the drug addiction consumes your life its time to take it back.
