INFORMATION ABOUT METH ADDICTION WITHDRAWAL

Meth is a word short for methamphetamine. Methamphetamine is a synthetic analogue of the adrenaline hormone that is naturally produced in our bodies when we are exposed to large amounts of stress. Adrenaline is produced by the body naturally, in a reaction to a high amount of stress. Shock and danger are also triggers that cause the brain to produce the adrenaline hormone. The hormone increase occurs so that the person in question has an increased amount of awareness and alertness, so they can escape the danger or shock that causes it in the first place. With adrenaline, people can easily escape a dangerous situation.

Meth is known to be a substance very similar to adrenaline, and so it is true that the effects of meth are incredibly similar, if not the same (only a little more effective) as the effects that occur when adrenaline is produced. The meth drug increases the amounts of energy that a person has, and increases their alertness so as they could perform the same as a person with an adrenaline rush. This euphoria and adrenaline-like symptoms are amongst the reasons people take the drug.

A large difference between adrenaline and the drug, however, is the fact that the hormone is made by the body – and so, the hormone can easily be  removed by the body too. It can be cleared from our systems relatively easy, so that the effects of adrenaline are not very long lasting at all.

Meth, however, can have the adrenaline like effects for periods of up to eight hours. This of course also depends on the amount of the drug that has been taken, as this might mean the body needs more time to gradually get rid of the toxin from the system.

The illegal form of the meth drug, as opposed to the legal form which is sold in tablet forms in the US (the legal drug can help weight loss, and help people with attention deficit disorders) is often taken by smoking the drug, or injecting it straight into your system. By inhaling and injecting the drug, the effects have a greater effect, as they get into the system incredibly quickly. By smoking, the drug goes into the lungs and is dispersed through the blood stream through the capillaries that surround your lungs. Soon the drug gets to your brain, and the euphoric effects of meth soon affect you nearly instantaneously.

The same is true for injecting the drug, as it is dispersed through the blood stream and soon reached the receptors in the brain.

The reason the drug is considered so tempting to the kind of people who are experienced with drugs is the fact that ingestion of the drug instantaneously produces an extreme and overwhelming sense of power, euphoria and what would seem like limitless energy. Ideas might come to a person quickly, conversation will flow quicker and increase in terms of speed and sexual arousal is often increased also.
