Christian Inpatient Drug Addiction Treatment Centre

The Bible shows many examples of people drinking. There are many instances in which even Christ is said to be drinking wine. Do not get this wrong. This is not a reason why any of us should start drinking. The Bible criticizes drunkenness. The book condemns bodies being controlled by anything, or addiction, a fact endorsed by the Christian rehab centers. Further, the Bible discourages Christians from indulging in any act that troubles their fellow beings.

Intoxication due to drugs and alcohol strips people of their ability to think and decision-making instincts. In the world, right and wrong become subjective but for those following a Christian or religious life, it is easy to stay on the right side.

This Christian way of life is at the center of the Christian rehab facilities, which have been established in many places in the country. Along with the physical and mental healing prescribed by the traditional drug treatment centers, the Christian programs include a number of sessions with a pastor or religious leader.

It has been observed that though addicts recover quickly once in a rehab center, the chances of a relapse remain strong. Many cases of such relapses have also been reported. This is due to two evident reasons – the lack of depth in the treatment and the guilt or lack of confidence.

It is not enough for de-addiction to be applied only to the body of the person. The mind requires an equal and sometimes even greater amount of treatment. This is found lacking in the traditional rehab programs, which focus only on getting rid of the current problem. On the contrary, the Christian rehab centers also think about the future. They are actively involved in equipping a patient to face the future and the world outside. The understanding that such mistakes happen and this is not the end of the world for the patient is important for him/her to survive. Enormous confidence to resume work, rebuild relationships and restore the earlier status in society is needed.

Many people opine that the usual de-addiction centers treat them only as patients. There is no acknowledgment of the individual and his/her feelings. The treatment is restricted to treating patients and getting them out of the facility. The faith-based facilities try and change this by keeping an inclusive environment.

These programs employ distinguished people, who involve the patient in the recovery process. The patient is as much responsible for his recovery as the staff at the hospital. The patient has to involve himself in the process and though s/he may be intimidated at first, is made to feel comfortable gradually.

Along with the counseling of the patient, counseling is recommended for the patient’s relatives and near and dear ones. They are made to understand their role in the patient’s recovery and they have to help create a conducive environment once s/he leaves the center. Though the recovery may be completed at the center, the test of it comes in the few days that s/he takes to adjust to the outside world. His loved ones will have to help him overcome the initial hiccups and give him/her the encouragement to stay clean and sober.

Many Christian facilities also engage in spreading knowledge about drug addiction and its negative effects. Workshops are conducted and examples talked about. These will enable the listeners to not only think about themselves but also people around them who need help but do not realize it.

Faith-based programs are not closed to people of other faiths. They will also find these treatment facilities welcoming because many people lose their faith when they are addicts. They are led back to their spirituality and religion with the atmosphere in these centers. They are made to understand the grounding to a religious philosophy and the comfort that emanates from it.

A visit to the website of faith-based treatment Center or any other such faith-based institution shows us the various facilities they offer and the categories they give treatment in. Transformation explains that their program is highly successful because of their competent staff, multi-disciplinary treatment and the guidance provided to a patient for his/her future life.

Contrary to popular perception, these Christian centers are not expensive. They may offer luxury rooms but they are modestly priced so that people can easily afford it. De-addiction can prove to be an expensive process, with the stay at the center, the treatment, medication and starting life all over again. The programs based on religion understand these practical difficulties and try to give affordable care.

The patient is also equipped the tools required for healthy living and for those who do not have a livelihood, arrange for sponsorships or some skill to be imparted. Once admitted into a Christian de-addiction center, many of the problems are taken care of. You can forget your problems and walk in for a consultation.
